Root Ready: How Air Pruning Helps Build Stronger Trees 🌱

Healthy roots make healthy trees, and in our Plant-EE® Pots, roots get a little extra help along the way. Unlike traditional plastic containers, our biodegradable Plant-EE® Pots are designed to promote air pruning, a natural process that encourages stronger, more fibrous root systems.
Here’s how it works:
When roots reach the edges of our pots, they’re naturally exposed to air. This exposure stops them from circling or becoming root-bound, which is common in closed plastic pots. Instead, the tips dry out slightly, a gentle signal that encourages the plant to send out new lateral roots deeper inside the pot.
The result?
Denser, more branched root systems
Better nutrient uptake
Stronger transplant success
We’ve already seen promising early signs in our seedlings. Roots are growing outward evenly, not spiraling, and they're filling the pots without becoming tangled. It’s exactly what we hoped for.
Strong roots now mean stronger trees later, and with air pruning built right into the design of our pots, we’re helping seedlings get a head start from the ground up.
More updates are coming soon! 🌱
