Rain or Shine (or Snow!): More Winter Weather Testing for Our Plant-EE® Pots 🌱🌧️

Back in December 2024, our 1-gallon Plant-EE® Pots were set outside on a concrete surface at the University of Toronto, completely unprotected and fully exposed.

While the main purpose was to analyze the  Plant-EE® Pots’ performance under the harsh Canadian winter filled with freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall, Mother Nature had other plans. Alongside frosty mornings and snowy storms, we also experienced mild days, periods of heavy rainfall, and little snow cover at times.

This created an important testing opportunity. Not only did the pots face the typical cold and snow, they also had to withstand sustained wet conditions, with water surrounding them for extended periods of time.

And how did they do?

  • No visible or structural damage

  • Resisted wear despite full exposure to Toronto’s outdoor winter conditions

  • Held up through all the rain, with a rough average monthly precipitation of 54 mm between November and March

These variable weather swings, snowy one week and rainy the next, highlight just how diverse and unpredictable Canadian winters can be. And our pots? They’re proving they can handle it all.

We’ll keep sharing updates as the seasons change and testing continues. Stay tuned! 🌱
