Elyas Hannoufa

Greetings! I am currently in my third year of undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering as well as a certificate in Renewable Resources Engineering. My whole purpose in pursuing this career was to be able to make an impact in the fields of sustainable and green biomaterials, and Nature’s Affinity has allowed me to do exactly that.

 

I’m especially interested in the research and development of bio-inspired green material solutions to many of today’s challenges caused by single-use plastics that are not only safe for the environment but more economically advantageous than their non-biodegradable counterparts.

 

I realize helping the environment is a multifaceted challenge. However, I am also a firm believer that nature holds the solutions to many of our problems, seeing as it has had the most time to iterate and get it right. I hope to follow this principle as best as I can and do my part through the development of sustainable biomaterials!
