Personal Profile
As a recent graduate of the University of Toronto, I am eager to apply my Honours Bachelor of Science, with a focus on Forest Biomaterial Sciences and minors in Urban and Visual Studies, to our research team. Growing up in the core of Toronto provided me with an appreciation for urban forestry; it is where I first understood the importance tree management plays in integrating and preserving greenspaces in a growing city.
It wasn’t until university that I fully explored the potential of the Forestry market, not just through its environmental value but as a sustainable material that could be used to diminish our reliance on plastic in consumer markets. My passion for exploring the applications of forest biomaterials truly began in preparation for my thesis in my final year, where I first connected with Dr. Sally Krigstin. My work focused on testing newly developed materials derived from wood polymers and by-products. This academic journey drove me to pursue a career focused on harnessing forest-based resources to create sustainable solutions for industry issues.
I look forward to actively helping companies transition to greener and more sustainable practices through the integration of forest biomaterials.
